Benjamin J. Bright was born in the south of England in a town called
Cuckfield, West Sussex, on August 27, 1959. During the year of 1963, his parents
bought ten acres of land outside the small village of Southwater. "Carpenter’s" was an old hunting lodge and was exactly as he describes in "Nigel Pluckrose; Please Sit Down." Between 1963-69, Ben played in two thousand-acre's of forest and farmland, with only two people to play with. |
| His imagination soared while exploring the
ancient history of Great Britain. From Viking’s to Submarine’s, Stone Henge to the Battle of Britain, with Medieval Castle’s and
Roman Mosaic Baths thrown in for good measure. He lived in a world of
unbelievable pets and adventure. October 13, 1969, Ben moved to Canada with his family at age ten. Landing in Montreal, the family spent most of the next year traveling across Canada, while his father found work. Finally settling in Oakville, Ontario. In 1978 he moved to Hinton, Alberta and worked driving truck, at a Pulp & Paper Mill, a lumberjack, a "roughneck" on an oil rig and the steel yards in Calgary. Returning to Oakville in 1982, he was one of the first Canadian men to qualify for "Mothers Allowance" so that he could raise his son Dallas, discovering that he had to become a mother to find out how much of a man he was. 1986 (?) saw him graduate from Niagara College as a Manufacturing Engineering Tech and Dallas from the College Day-Care. Living, working and traveling across Canada and the North-Eastern U.S., his imagination continually grew. He moved to Stratford, Ontario, Canada in 1997. Where, while sitting at Balzac's having coffee, he finally discovered his passions in life; His third wife "Christine", gardening, writing and storytelling. Everything else just supports what he loves to do. Thanks God, I'm still alive and kicking because of you and know I have hope and peace. |
